Sexual Harassment and Prevention Cell
The Shillong Law College Sexual Harassment and Prevention Cell reinforce its commitment to creating its campus free from discrimination, harassment, retaliation or sexual assault at all level at work place. It aims to create or organised awareness, orientation or training programmes about what constitutes the Sexual Harassment including hostile environment harassment and quid pro quo harassment. Its main functions are to inform employees and students of the recourse available to them, if they are victims of sexual harassment; the cell shall have an internal complaint committee to be responsible to bring those guilty of sexual harassment against its employees and students as required by Law and also put in place mechanisms and redressal systems.
“This Act of 2013, also known as “PoSH Act” is an Indian Law which has been enacted with the prime objective of making workplaces safer for women by preventing, prohibiting and redressing acts of sexual harassment against them in the workplace.”
