National Service Scheme (NSS)



National Service Scheme aims at arousing social consciousness of the youth with an overall objective of personality development of the students through community service. The primary objective is to provide opportunity to the students for community works. This helps in understanding the problems of real life and utilizing their skills and knowledge in resolving problems. This would enrich their experience and would have a tremendous value for career development.

NSS gives opportunity to make a significant contribution in field of literacy, disaster management, health and family welfare and environment, NSS is working for integrated development of adopted villages and slums through its regular and special camping programmes. This will develop youth to bring in a change for the betterment of weaker sections of the society.

The Shillong Law College NSS was setup on the 3rd November, 2017. The NSS unit aims at the involvement mainly of undergraduate students on a voluntary basis in various activities of social service. The students of our college have represented the College in various camps. Special campaigns were launched on Aids Awareness, Social evils, Legal awareness, Rights and status of women, child welfare and Tree plantation. The Orientation Programme was conducted by the NSS Programme Coordinator Dr L. Kma in the presence of 124 (One Twenty Four) Students.
